Congratulations Kayleigh and Nic on a Wedding to Remember
Every wedding is unique and has memorable moments. Some of the most memorable moments that I've photographed included a Chinese dragon dance, fire performances, flame spitters, and a hog as a ring bearer (and yes there was really a hog walking down the aisle, lol). However, this wedding was different. Kayleigh and Nic's wedding didn't just have memorable moments, the entire wedding was memorable from beginning to end. It screamed of fun, love, and chemistry. It operated with an energy level of 100% from beginning to end. It exuded lots of character and personality. These are just some of the qualities that put their wedding on my most memorable wedding list.
Although we've had several email exchanges and phone conversations, the first time that I met Kayleigh and Nic, in person, was during their engagement session. We met at Trough Creek Park, a location that Kayleigh picked because she loved the waterfall, and who wouldn't just take a look at the pictures. Once I saw the waterfall, I knew that I wanted to get Kayleigh and Nic as close to the falls as possible. This including trying to convince them to climb up slippery rocks and possibly getting wet. Little did I know they were more than prepared to climb to get the perfect shot, they actually planned on it. It was at this moment that I knew this wasn't going to be a typical engagement session. We climbed waterfalls, hiked through an autumnal forest, crossed over a suspension bridge to pop bottles of champagne along a lonely road. We had such a wonderful and fun day. I loved their energy levels and was excited for their wedding. Little did I know, that both Kayleigh and Nic's clans were just as fun and energetic as they were.
more about their wedding day after some great images from their engagement session
Now the big day is here. It's time to get married at the breath-taking Weddings On Memory Lane. Remember when I talked about their energy levels being on 100% from beginning to end? I was not exaggerating. The bridal party was full of nothing but energy and excitement. There was never a dull moment working with them. Nic and his men were some of the sharpest and goofiest groomsmen that I've encounter. Kayleigh and her ladies channeled their inner divas both in front of the camera and on the dance floor. This made it effortless to get amazing images.
Now, the bridal party was great. The venue was great. The pictures were great. But the rock concert was amazing. Yes there was an epic rock performance put on by Kayleigh and her dad. Most non-traditional 1st dances are fun to watch, whether it's a choreographed performance or free style, but few bring actual props to sell the show. It started out as a typical father-daughter dance, then as the music changed, Kayleigh put on her "Top Gun" styled shades and pulled out her electric guitar. Kayleigh's dad then threw on his bandanna and Harley-Davidson biker jacket and they both began to rock out. It was such a sight to see and even more so to capture. They joy and excitement on Kayleigh's face as she and her dad rocked out in front of all their friends and family was priceless. Plus, Kayleigh's dad really knows how to get down. This was yet another constant reminder throughout the day that Kayleigh's clan really knew how to party. And on the dance floor, they didn't disappoint either. I almost didn't want the night to end because I was having so much fun. But alas, we concluded with a beautiful sparker send-off, so I thought. After I packed up my equipment and was about to head out, I ran into one of Kayleigh's brother-in-law's who said that he was watching his kids so that Kayleigh's sister could have fun at the after party. I was in total shock that they still had energy to party until the last person dropped.
I will forever remember this wedding for all of its love and energy. There was never a dull moment from beginning to end. Kayleigh and Nic came to celebrate their love with their family and friends. And in return they threw one of the best parties that I've had a pleasure of photographing. Kayleigh and Nic are such beautiful and energetic souls and I wish that their vibrant flame for each other last for many lifetimes to come.
Congratulations again to Kayleigh and Nic
Finally, weddings don't happen in a vaccum so I want to give a huge shout-out to all the amazing vendors that came together to make Kayleigh and Nic's wedding the best.
